So choir took up my whole day today. I had rehersal in the morning (missed the bus, had to walk... good exercise :p) was home for two hours (shower, lunch/dinner and a nap) then back for the actual concert. I do enjoy choir, but I really wish these thingswerent so close to fnals. On the bright side, one of the small groups I'm with got invited to the President of the Uni's huse to sing, which is kinda cool. At least I get some free, good dinner out of the deal :) All I managed to do when I gothome was finish up some Calc. Calc reminds me how much better at math CS guys are than me. I was trying to figure this differentiation problem out for a good 5 minutes, and my roomate came in and showed me how to do it on his first try... during a break from playing Dance Dance Revolution off a laptop hotwired into a ddr pad. They're a different breed, I tell ya.

Today was good in a boring sort of way. Just so much to do for classes in so little time, I spent the whole day doing projects. But on the bright side, I'm now all done but the shouting on three of the five projrcts hanging over my head. Heh, I've got to tell you, it's an sad bunch that hangs out at the 24 hour computer lab at 1:00 AM on a Friday night. It's one part losers who have nothing better to do, one part people who are horribly behind on work (Myself included), and one part forign students, who as far as I can tell live either there or in the library, depending upon which is open... So, lots of work, very little fun. At least Christine called in the middle to break it up, so I had that going for me. Tomorrow: choir rehersal then more work. woo hoo.<br /><br />Countdown to finals: 5 days.

    <lj:music>Radiohead- There There</lj:music>

I missed yesterday because it was a very long, evil day. The goal here is to go one post a day. I never really did the journal thing in the past, so this is kinda like a pre-new years resolution or something. All kinds of work this weekend. I've got 5 projects due and a choir concert (not a big deal) on sunday. This post, however, should be dedicated to my savior of yesterday: Campbell's microwavable chunky bowl of soup. It was incredibly rainy yesterday morning and I was super sleepy, so I went to my first class, schlubbed back to my dorm room, nuked some soup and ate it while watching the rain on the river. Then I took a nap, which was amazing. Mid-morning naps are seriously where it's at. I was so refreshed afterwards. But back to chunky soup. It's great because it's already in a bowl, you just have to pop the lid and nuke it. And it's surprisingly good for soup that was probably made last year... out of rats. Just exactly what I needed for a dark and gloomy day that turned into a long night of doing financial accounting (avoid that course at all costs). And attention all GW people: I'm making a trip down Feb 18-20 so you all get to meet me at least once :) Woo hoo, I got all my classes for next semester so I don't even have to wake up tommorow at 8 to do add/drop. Thank goodness for small favors

So today is my rough day of classes. I had Web Programing (Perl is evil, evil I tell you) and Calculus (which is boring as sin ut at least doable). After that I grab a sandwich in the ten minutes between classes and hightail it to Chamber Singers. Chamber Singers is an incredily fun class because it's just 30 people who are very good at singing and enjoy it. We did christmas stuff to sing at the President's house (always a cool event, catered and everything). But anyway, where I'm going with this is that we did both my favorite and least favorite christmas songs. On the plus side, we did carol of the bells. Absolutely tight song. Driving beat, carefree lyrics and parts that cascade over one another and strike cool cords. If I had the choice, I'd do it every year. However, we followed it up with "Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas". Gah. I hate that song. It's a total christmas buzzkill. Seriously, singing Merrry Little Christmas can drop any party by three notches. You've got this happy little song about being toghether on christmas, and they put it to this meloncholy tune thats even sappier than my last livejournal post. I think the reason I dislike it the most is because it just strike me as false. The song feels like something sung by someone reflecting on everything they've lost and can never regain. Why would you sing a song like that on a happy holiday? And thats my rant on christmas tunes. Hoping to get some work done tonight, we'll See.
